Alyssa Banaag, BSc
Alyssa graduated from Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) with a major in Biology. Her passion for microbiology started when she first conducted research in her second year studying Enterohemmorhagic E. coli (EHEC). Since then, she has worked on three independent projects and completed an honours thesis on EHEC pathogenesis in the Galleria mellonella infection model. Alyssa is currentlya PhD student in the Molecular and Cellular Biology program at the University of Guelph studying clinical isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa biofilms using the approaches of confocal microscopy and proteomic analysis. Her goal is to determine whether clinical P. aeruginosa biofilms behave differently from the lab strains PAO1 and PA14. |
