Carlos Martinez Soto, BSc
Carlos Martinez Soto is currently a PhD student in the Molecular and Cellular Biology program at the University of Guelph. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology Engineering at the Center for Research and Advanced Studies of the National Polytechnic Institute (CINVESTAV) in Mexico where he studied the characterization of a superinfection exclusion protein from a temperate E. coli phage mEp021. His PhD project will be conducted under the supervision of Dr. Khursigara and Dr. Anany from the Agriculture Agri-food Canada. For his PhD project, Carlos will be doing research on isolation and characterization of Salmonella phages for their application in food safety and focusing in phage-host molecular interaction
