Elyse Roach, PhD

Elyse completed her PhD at the University of Guelph with Dr. Khursigara in the department of Molecular and Cellular Biology. Her project focussed on elucidating protein-protein interactions between the bacterial cell division proteins. Following completion of her PhD, Elyse accepted a post-doctoral fellowship at Karolinska Institute (Stockholm, Sweden) with Dr. Carsten Mim, in the research group of Dr. Hans Hebert. Here she learned high-end cryo-electron microscopic techniques and computational processing of large image datasets. Elyse then returned to Guelph and completed a 3-year post-doctoral fellowship in the Khursigara lab. In January 2021, she transitioned to a full-time position in the Molecular and Cellular Imaging Facility at the University of Guelph and continues to support various projects and collaborations in the Khursiagra lab.
