The lab welcomes Carlos, a PhD student that is in Molecular and Cellular Biology program at the University of Guelph. His PhD project will be conducted under the supervision of Dr. Khursigara and Dr. Anany from the Agriculture Agri-food Canada. For his PhD project, Carlos will be doing research on isolation and characterization of Salmonella phages for their application in food safety and focusing in phage-host molecular interaction.

The Khursigara lab heads to annual Canadian Society of Microbiology (CSM) meeting 2019 in Sherbrooke Quebec! Laura, Mara, Nicole, Madison and Alyssa presented amazing posters on their research while Erin was selected as one of the speakers to present her work on peptidoglycomics. During the awards ceremony, Madison received the ISME-8 student travel award! Congratulations to all! Dr. Cezar Khursigara also presented his welcome for the 70th annual CSM meeting that will take place at the University of Guelph. The lab looks forward to seeing you in Guelph for CSM 2020!
