The annual Khursigara lab fundraiser to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis Canada kicks off today! The fundraising starts with our Lotto! Ballots are $10.00.
Stay tuned for our other fundraising initiatives such as our bake sale, ice cream sandwich sale, mother's day flower sale and our first ever progressive euchre tournament! Welcome Neil and Neethu! Neil and Neethu join the lab this winter as MSC and MBIOTECH students. Neil aims to elucidate the roll of Escherichia coli cell division regulator FtsKN. On the other hand, Neethu will be studying the peptidoglycan composition of Pseudomonas aeruginosa when exposed to various β-lactam antibiotics to understand the mechanism of action of β-lactam antibiotics on the peptidoglycan layer.
The Khursigara lab wins first place in the departmental pumpkin carving competition! Do you Leica our pumpkin?
The lab continues to grow! Alyssa has started as an MSc student and will be investigating Pseudomonas aeruginosa biofilms. On the other hand, Stevan has started as a PhD student under the co-supervision of Dr. Anany in Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and will be studying phage-bacteria interactions in biofilms.
Congratulations to Madison for presenting an amazing poster for her 4th-year project! During her project, Madison worked with MSc student Nicole Garnier, where she imaged intraspecies interactions of Pseudomonas aeruginosa in biofilms.
